Announcement bar

Context's announcement bar feature lets you fix up to 3 announcements to the top of each page. It's great for promoting sales or linking to company announcements.

Set up the announcement bar

To set up the announcement bar:

STEPS

1. From your Customize theme editor, select the Announcement bar section.

2. Check the Show announcement checkbox.

   The bar will appear only when at least one announcement has been added.

3. Choose the Time between announcements using the slider.

   The time is expressed in seconds. Setting the slider to 5 will display each announcement for 5 seconds before rotating to the next one.

4. To add an announcement, return to the list of Home page sections and click the arrow beside the Announcement Bar section.

5. Use the Add announcement button to start adding an announcement.

6. Click Save.

Settings reference

The announcement bar has the following settings:

Add announcement

Add up to 3 announcements using this button.

Show announcement

Check this checkbox to enable the announcement bar feature.

Time between announcements

Choose the time, in seconds, that an announcement should be shown.

If you only have 1 announcement set up, this setting does nothing.

Add announcement

When you enable the announcement bar, you can add up to 3 announcements to it. Each announcement can be configured as a link to another store page.

To add an announcement:

2. Use the Add announcement button to start adding an announcement.

   You can add up to 3 announcements.

3. Add Announcement text.

We recommend announcements be less than 10 words.

1. (Optional.) Paste or select a link using the Announcement Link field.

2. Click Save.

Settings reference

Each announcement has the following settings:

Announcement text

Add text to be displayed to customers.

We recommend keeping this to between 4 and 8 words.

Announcement link

Select a page that this announcement links to.

When a customer clicks on the announcement, they are taken to this page.

Background color

Choose the color of the announcement bar for this announcement.

Text color

Choose the text color for this announcement.
