Rich text

The Rich text section adds a single full-width block of text to your home page. This section also includes an optional call to action button. It looks great between two image-focused sections.

Add a rich text section to your home page

To set up a rich text section:

STEPS

1. From your Customize theme editor, choose Home page from the pages drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

2. Scroll down the list of home page settings until you see the Add section button.

3. Choose Rich text from the list of sections.

   This opens the Rich text section settings.

4. Add a Heading and Text.

   You can make parts of the text bold or italic. You can also add links.

5. (Optional.) Add a Link and Link text.

   This link is displayed as a call to action button underneath your text.

6. Use the Text max width slider to limit the maximum width of the text.

   If your text just doesn't quite "look right" on the page, you can adjust how wide the paragraph(s) are displayed at maximum.

7. Choose a Text alignment for this section, either Left or Center.

8. Return to the list of Home page sections to find your new Rich text section.

   Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of your Home page sections:

9. Click Save.

Settings reference

The rich text section has the following settings:

Heading

Add heading text to be displayed above the list of collections.

We recommend keeping this to only a few words long.

Text

Add text to be displayed below the heading text.

You can make parts of the text bold or italic. You can also add links.

Link

Choose a page from your store to be link to from the section's call to action button.

Link text

Add text to be used on the call to action button.

Text max width

Change how wide the text can be at a maximum.

This makes your text paragraph(s) narrower or wider depending on how long your text is.

Text alignment

Choose how the text in this section should be aligned. Either Left or Center.
