Footer

The Footer section appears at the bottom of every page. It's a great place for quick-access links, contact info, and reference information. The footer can also include the language selector, currency selector, social media icons, and payment icons.

STEPS
  1. From your Customize theme editor, scroll down and choose the Footer section.

  2. Check the Show language selector, Show currency selector, Show social icons checkboxes to enable these special footer features.

  3. Check the Show payment icons checkbox to display your store's accepted payment methods.

  4. Return to the list of Home page sections and click the arrow beside the Footer section markdown:shopify-footer-content.md

  5. Use the Add block button to add up to 4 foot content areas.

    There are three styles of content area: Text, Links, and Newsletter.

  6. Click Save.

Settings reference

The footer has the following settings:

Show language selector

Enable the language selector in the bottom of the footer.

Multiple language shops are a Shopify feature. See Shopify's Selling in multiple languages for more information.

Show currency selector

Enable the currency selector in the bottom of the footer.

Adding multiple currencies is a Shopify feature. See Shopify's Sell in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments for more information.

Show social icons

Enable buttons that link to each of your social media accounts.

See the Social media article for information about adding your social media accounts to Spark.

Show payment icons

Enable icons for each of the payment methods your store accepts.

No additional configuration is required. This setting reads the list of payment methods currently active on your checkout page.

Your footer can include up to four distinct content areas.

You can add multiple link columns and one text and one newsleter column. You can see all four content areas enabled in the image below::

On mobile, each section folds up into an accordion::

STEPS
  1. From your Customize theme editor, select the arrow beside the Footer section. markdown:shopify-footer-content.md

  2. Use the Add block button to choose either Text, Links, or Newsletter.

  3. For Text: Enter Heading and Text.

  4. For Links: Enter Heading text and choose a Footer menu to be displayed.

    For more information about how menus work on Shopify, see their Menus and links article. You can use the Edit menu link to go edit the menu if it's not quite right.

  5. For Newsletter: Enter a Heading and some Text.

    Newsletter subscribers are added to your "accepts marketing" Shopify Customers list. You can learn more about how to manage Shopify customer emails from their Email subscriber list management and Using Shopify Email for email marketing article.

    Note that the Popup feature and Newsletter section also include newsletter signup blocks, so you might want to check those out, too.

  6. Click Save.
