Quotes

The Quotes section displays a rotating slideshow of quotations about your store or what inspires you.

The Quotes section can be used on the following page templates:

  • Home page template

  • Collection pages template

  • Product pages template

Add a Quotes section to the home page

To set up a Quotes section on your home page:

STEPS

  1. From your Customize theme editor, choose Home page from the pages drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the home page sections and choose Add section.

  3. Choose Quotes from the list of sections.

    This opens the Quotes settings.

  4. Choose the Time between quotes. The number value represents the number of seconds that a customer will have to read the quote.

  5. Change the Max width of text.

  6. Choose the Image shape of the author photo to be Round or Square.

  7. Return to the list of Home page sections to find your new Quotes section with the content blocks nested below.

Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of the blocks:

  1. Use the Add Quote button to add a quote.

    You can add up to 4 quote blocks.

  2. Change the Quote text.

  3. Change the Author text.

  4. (Optional.) Add an Author photo.

  5. Click Save.

Add a Quotes section to other pages

You can add a Quotes section to your Collection pages and Product pages templates.

To enable a Quotes section on these pages:

STEPS

  1. From your Customize theme editor, choose Collections or Products from the pages drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

  2. Click on the arrow beside Collection features or Product features.

  3. Use the Add block button to select Quotes.

    This opens the Quotes section settings.

  4. Change the Quote text.

  5. Change the Author text.

  6. (Optional.) Add an Author photo.

  7. Use the Back to settings < button to return to the Quote settings. Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of the quotes.

  8. Choose the Time between quotes. The number value represents the number of seconds that a customer will have to read the quote.

  9. Change the Max width of text.

  10. Choose the Image shape of the author photo to be Round or Square.

  11. Return to the list of Product or Collection features. Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of the blocks:

  12. Click Save.

Settings reference

The Quote section has the following settings:

Quote

Add the quote text.

Author

Add the name of the person being quoted.

Time between quotes

Adjust the amount of time that customers have to read each quote.

Max width of text

Control the width of the subheading text. The width will need to be adjusted when you adjust the number of columns.

Image shape

Choose to display the author photo as Round or Square.

Use alternate selection color

Set the background color to the Alternate Section Color as chosen in your Color Settings.
