Blog posts

The Blog posts section adds a curated list of featured blog posts to your home page. The blog posts are navigable as a carousel, with arrow buttons on either side.

Before you add a blog posts section

We want to make a couple of recommendations so you can get the most out of the blog posts section.

STEPS

  1. Add featured images to all of your blog posts.

    You can do this when adding or editing the blog post. See Shopify's Add an image to a blog post documentation for instructions.

    There are no required image dimensions but we recommend an image with a minimum width of 2048px for optimal quality.

  2. Add excerpts for all of your blog posts.

    You can add excerpts when you add or edit the blog post. See Shopify's Display an excerpt from a blog post documentation for instructions.

Add a blog posts section to your home page

Settings reference

The following settings are available for the blog posts section:

Style

Choose a section style, either Default or Contrast. This affects the colors of the current section.

Columns

Choose how many columns of blog posts should be displayed at once. Choose between 1 and 3 columns.

Image aspect ratio

Choose the aspect ratio for all blog post featured images displayed.

Use Square (1:1), Landscape (3:2), or Portrait (2:3) to have the images cropped to match one another

Use Natural if you do not want your images cropped at all.

Heading

Add heading text.

We recommend keeping this to a just a few words long.

Link text

Add custom link text, which is used to link to each full article.

Max width of text

Using the slider, choose how wide the heading and blog excerpt text should appear, at a maximum.
