Footer

The footer section appears at the bottom of every page. The footer is a great place to leave quick-access links and reference information.

STEPS
  1. From your Customize theme editor, select the Footer section.

  2. Enable the Show headings section if you want to display a small heading above each footer section.

  3. Check the Show payment icons checkbox to display icons for each payment method your store accepts.

  4. Enable the Show newsletter signup checkbox to enable a newsletter signup block. Then you can use the Newsletter subheading to add marketing text about what makes your newsletter great.

  5. Check the Show language selector and Show currency selector checkboxes to enable these special footer features.

  6. To show buttons that link back to your social media accounts in the footer, scroll to the bottom of the footer settings and press the Theme settings button.

    This opens the social media theme settings, where you can add links to all your accounts.

    Once you've added links, the social icons appear:

  7. Return to the top-level settings area and click the arrow beside the Footer section to edit the footer content. markdown:shopify-footer-content.md

  8. Add up to three footer content areas using the Add block button.

    There are three styles of content area: Text, Links, and Newsletter, and you can add one of each style.

  9. Click Save.

Settings reference

The footer has the following settings:

Show headings

Show a small heading above each enabled section of your footer.

Show payment icons

Enable icons for each of the payment methods your store accepts.

No additional configuration is required. This setting reads the list of payment methods currently active on your checkout page.

Show newsletter signup

Enable a newsletter signup form in your footer.

Newsletter subheading

Add text to explain your newsletter. It is displayed above the newsletter signup form.

We recommend keeping this to a short sentence or two.

Show language selector

Enable the language selector in the drawer menu.

Multiple language shops are a Shopify feature. See Shopify's Selling in multiple languages for more information.

Show currency selector

Enable the currency selector in the drawer menu.

Adding multiple currencies is a Shopify feature. See Shopify's Sell in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments for more information.

Your footer can include up to three content areas. The areas are:

Text: An area for a sentence or two about your store.

Menu (1 of 2): A menu of links to other pages.

Menu (2 of 2): A second menu of links to other pages.

STEPS
  1. From your Customize theme editor, select the arrow beside the Footer section. markdown:shopify-footer-content.md

  2. Use the Add block button to add a Text, or Links block.

  3. For Text: Enter a Heading and Text.

    Note that the heading is only displayed if you enable the Show headings setting.

  4. For Links: Choose a menu to display.

    For more information about how menus work on Shopify, see their Menus and links article. You can use the Edit menu link to go edit the menu if it's not quite right.

  5. Click Save.
