Testimonials

The Testimonials section lets you feature quotes from customers. You can personalize each testimonial quote with an optional profile picture.

Each testimonial can link to a specific product or page on your store. It can include the reviewers name, picture, and their star rating of a product.

Set up testimonials on the home page

To set up the Testimonials section:

STEPS

  1. From your Customize theme editor, choose Home page from the pages drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

  2. Scroll down the list of home page sections and click the Add section button.

  3. Choose Testimonials from the list of sections.

    This opens the testimonials section settings.

  4. Choose the Style for the section, either Default or Contrast.

    If you select Contrast, this section uses Lorenza's contrast colors.

  5. Choose the Text position.

    This setting changes where the heading, description, and link text appear.

    Choose Top left, Top center, Top right, Middle left, or Middle right. The Middle sections re-position the header content to the left or right of the testimonials carousel. See an example:

  6. Change how many of Columns of testimonials can appear on the screen at once.

    Choose between 2 and 4 columns. If you have Middle left or Middle right set as your Text position, the text will use a column.

  7. Choose the Image aspect ratio to be used for all collection images.

    Use Natural to use the original images. Or, use Square (1:1), Landscape (3:2), or Portrait (2:3) to have the images cropped to match one another.

  8. Add a Small heading, Heading, Subheading, Link text and Link.

    These all appear in the header area of the section.

    If you want to link to a external page, like an Instagram profile page, you need to type (or copy and paste) the full URL starting with https://. For example: https://example.com/abc123.

  9. Choose a Max width of text, between 16 and 50.

    The text max width lets you control the shape of the text, and make it look good no matter how long your collection descriptions are.

  10. Return to the list of Home page sections to find your new testimonials section.

Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of your Home page sections:

  1. Use the Add testimonial button to add a new testimonial.

  2. Click Save.

Settings reference

The following settings are available for testimonial sections:

Style

Choose a section style, either Default or Contrast. This affects the colors of the current section.

Text position

Choose a position for all of the header and link text for the current section.

Columns

Use the slider to choose how many testimonials should be displayed per row of testimonials. You can choose between 2 and 4 per row.

Image aspect ratio

Choose the aspect ratio for all collection images displayed.

Use Square (1:1), Landscape (3:2), or Portrait (2:3) to have the images cropped to match one another

Use Natural if you do not want your images cropped at all.

Small heading

Change the small heading text displayed above the main heading.

Heading

Change the heading displayed in the header area the testimonial section.

We recommend keeping this to just a few words long.

Link text

Change the text for a link in the header area the testimonial section.

Link

Change the link for the link text for the testimonial section. If you're adding an external link, you need to type (or copy and paste) the full URL, starting with https://. For example: https://example.com/abc123.

Max width of text

Using the slider, choose how wide the heading text should appear, at a maximum.

Add a testimonial block

Once you have added a Testimonials section, you can start adding testimonial quotes to it.

To add a new testimonial to your Testimonials section:

STEPS

  1. Make sure you are already editing the Testimonials section that you want to change.

  2. Use the Add testimonial button to add a new testimonial.

  3. Choose or upload an Image for the quote. This will most likely be a profile picture of the person being quoted.

  4. Add a Product link.

    This lets customers click on the image to go to the link you've selected.

  5. Add a Star rating.

    Choose a star rating for the testimonials, between 0 and 5 stars.

  6. Add a Reviewer image and a Reviewer name for the testimonial.

  7. Add the Review text.

    We recommend keeping this to just a couple of sentences long.

  8. Return to the list of Home page sections to find your Testimonials section with the content blocks nested below.

    You can change the order of the blocks by using the drag handles:

  9. Repeat this process until you've added all the testimonials you need.

You can also use the Remove block button to remove a testimonial from this section entirely.

  1. Click Save.

Settings reference

Each testimonial has the following settings:

Image

Select or upload an image, used as the profile picture for the person being quoted in the testimonial.

Product link

Add a link to a product or page on your store.

Star rating

Add a star rating to the testimonial, between 0 and 5 stars.

Reviewer image

Add an image to be used as the reviewer's profile picture.

Reviewer name

Add the name of the person being quoted.

Review

Add the quote text for the testimonial.
